Day to Day Activities

Imaginative Play

Imaginative play is essentially when children are role playing and are acting out various experiences they may have had or something that is of some interest to them. They are experimenting with decision making on how to behave and are also practising their social skills.

Outdoor Play

At Spring Willows we're very lucky to have a large and varied outdoor play area including a secure and safe place for the continual outdoor provision, as well as grassed areas and fruit trees for structured activities.

Observations and Assessments

Children will be continually assessed throughout their time at Spring Willows, this is to enable us to monitor their progress. This will be done by staff using a variety of observational techniques during your child’s play.

Whats Important to Spring Willows?

At Spring Willows the staff work hard to build up a trusting relationship with each child while in our setting. It is very important that this partnership is also formed between the Staff and Parents. Children may indeed be very different little people at home than at playgroup. When staff and parents work closely together a fuller understanding of the child can be gained. This working partnership between Parents and Staff has the best interests of the child at heart, helping us to identify and celebrate the child’s interests, learning and achievements, either at home or at playgroup.
Parents that bring their child to playgroup can at any time approach the playgroup Owner Jayne, Manager Maxine or their child’s individual keyworker if there is anything they need to discuss. Working parents can also keep in touch by ringing or jotting a note down in the child’s Home / Playgroup book.
We also have regular termly key worker time, where you will be invited in to discuss your child’s progress in playgroup. This is a great opportunity for us to celebrate your child’s achievements together.
